Covid-19 Litigation Database, a new international database on pandemic litigation

The University of Trento and the World Health Organization launched on 15 December 2021 the Covid-19 Litigation Database, a database on litigation arising from the pandemic situation. It can be accessed at: "Covid-19 Litigation Database".

Among the unprecedented challenges generated by the Covid-19 crisis, countless legal issues are at the forefront. The Covid-19 Database project aims to provide a global overview of case law resulting from challenges to government measures to combat the pandemic.

The case selection focuses on litigation of challenges to the exercise of governmental authority where a government's competence to implement public health measures has been challenged. Cases published in the database come from jurisdictions (WHO Member States) in all regions of the world and, where appropriate, from supranational courts such as the European Court of Human Rights. The database includes basic bibliographical information on cases as well as case summaries in English.

The database will be continuously updated to reflect developments in the law of each jurisdiction. An interactive search engine is provided so that users can also provide suggestions for the database's integration, usability and usefulness.

Visit the Covid-19 Litigation Database.
