homeless

On 31 October 2022, the Supreme Court of India disposed of a petition which sought a writ of mandamus directed at the central government as well as the local governments, in order to provide food shelter for homeless people during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Court pointed out that the measures requested concerned the period of the COVID-19 and that, in the light of the subsequent development of COVID-19 diffusion in the country, the petition has become “infructuous”.
